桂元村是广东省清远市佛冈县水头镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东北部，村委会距镇政府约2.5公里。村名的来历是1963年由桂田分出后另立，两村曾在白麻园联合办公。[1]
村情[edit]
全村山林31396亩，耕地1527亩，村委会有人口2962人。耕地平坦，水源充足，过去是粮食主产区，经结构调整后大量种植沙糖桔。[1]
全村辖7条自然村，分别是新村、白麻园、新龙围、仓边、白石圳、黄塘和五洞。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代属清远县吉河乡，民国时期属佛冈县一区水头乡。1959年5月起称桂元大队，1983年12月改为桂元乡，1987年1月改为桂元村委会，1995年11月复称村委会。[1]
