根竹坑村位于广东省清远市清新区浸潭镇西南部，距镇圩约4公里。村名来自村中一条水坑两边生长的牛筋竹，因“筋”与“根”谐音，故称根竹坑。2021年12月，村获广东省爱卫会授予的「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年改为村委会，此前的1989年为管理区，1986年撤乡改设根竹坑村委会，1983年改为乡，1958年分设根竹坑大队，1953年为黄岐塘乡。[1]
