南田村位于龙颈镇西南部。村子四面环山，中间为水田，南冲流出的水穿过田间，因此得名[1]。

省爱卫会于2023年5月公布，南田村下辖的黄毛洞村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

南田一带1953年组成南田乡；1958年转为大队，1983年又设乡。1986年起称村委会，1989年划入管理区，1999年重新成为村委会。2004年5月石马镇撤销后，本村改属龙颈镇[1]。
