石桐村位于太平镇西部，村委会距镇政府约6公里，下辖19个村民小组。[1]村名各取辖内石桥、桐油坪两个自然村的首字，由原石桐、光彩两村合并而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地归石坎乡所辖。1958年单独成立石桐大队；1983年改属元岗乡，其中包括石桐、年丰、金门三部分。1986年改设石桐村委会，1989年设管理区，1999年改为村委会。2004年，光彩新村委会的辖区划归石桐村管辖。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

村域面积4.8平方千米，耕地2040亩，鱼塘447亩，865户、3336人。村内以水稻、蔬菜、水果为主，并养殖塘鱼，是镇内粮食和蔬菜主产区。[1]
