天塘村位于太平镇北部，村委会距镇政府约3公里，下辖24个村民小组。[1]村名从原天良乡分出时取天良乡的首字「天」，与驻地塘仔尾的首字「塘」合成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年此地属天良乡。1958年自天良乡分出，设天塘大队；1983年与天良大队合并，称天良乡；1986年重新分设，1989年改为管理区，1999年改称村委会。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

村域总面积约5.9平方千米，耕地1862亩，鱼塘81亩，796户、3056人。耕地广阔平坦，水源充足，大量种植经济作物。[1]
