南蒲村是太平镇东部的行政村，村委会距镇政府约1公里，辖13个村民小组。[1]村名取大南乡的末字「南」与蒲芦村的首字「蒲」合成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国期间，此地曾为大南乡的一部分，辖大南、中南、南北、南蒲、蒲兴。1950年又分出大南乡与南蒲乡；1958年南蒲乡一分为二，成立南蒲、蒲兴两个大队；1983年，蒲兴大队并入，合组南蒲乡；1986年定为南蒲村委会，1989年划作管理区，1999年成为村委会。[1]

2019年9月，南蒲村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2023年5月，该村的第六村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

全村571户、2048人，耕地约1207亩，以水稻、花生、沙糖桔为主，并养殖塘鱼。[1]
