楼星村是太平镇东北部的行政村，村委会距镇政府约3公里，下辖11个村民小组。[1]村名取行政中心所在的水楼村末字「楼」，加上当时流行的「星」字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年至1957年，楼星村与大楼村合称大楼乡。1958年另立楼星大队，1983年与大楼重新并为大楼乡；1986年起成为村委会，1989年划为管理区，1999年又恢复村委会。[1]

2019年9月，楼星村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

全村面积约4.5平方千米，595户、2030人，耕地约1147亩，以种植水稻、花生和养殖塘鱼为主。[1]
