名称由来[edit]

过去此处没有修筑堤围，北江涨水时河水从莲珠岗、夹洲一带直冲而来，流速很大，冲走了表层沙土，留下黄色土地，并形成大小不一的洞穴，因而得名黄洞。村委会驻地也设在黄洞。[1]

里社古庙位于黄洞村，是镇内的古迹之一。[3]
