长冲村位于龙塘镇南部，四面环山，北面与龙塘镇新庄社区接壤，南端与石角镇马头村毗邻。村名因山冲狭长而得。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村域的山地形成一条狭长的山冲，村名由此而来。1953年设乡政府时，定名为长冲。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村域面积约12平方千米，丘陵山地与可耕地相间，下辖20个自然村，总户数1261户，户籍人口5336人，外来人口8000多人（数字未注年份）。[1]

产业与设施[edit]

耕地为黑泥沙土，种植水稻和花生，也种香芋、粉葛等经济作物。养殖的家禽以三黄鸡和乌鬃鹅为主。村内设有长冲小学；村小组设有文化室8间，水泥篮球场9个。广清高速公路经过村域。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予长冲村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，长冲村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
