民平村位于龙塘镇西部，距镇政府约6千米，与金沙社区、泗合村、云路社区、定安村等相邻。村域面积约9平方千米。[1]
地名由来[edit]
1951年土地改革时，工作队认为解放后人民生活安定、热爱和平，遂起名「民平」，村委会驻地也设于此，村名由此而来。[1]
人口与产业[edit]
村辖11条自然村。常住人口4785人，另有流动人口326人；耕地4205亩，鱼塘养殖1250亩（数字未注年份）。村里经营规模化种植，如霸王花种植基地，也养殖母鹅、母猪和优质鱼，并兼营废旧五金加工。[1]
行政沿革[edit]
1951年先设民平乡，1958年改为大队，1983年重新设乡，1987年改为村委会，1990年为管理区，1999年再回到村委会这一名称。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予民平村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
