社区辖区面积约8平方千米，现有24条自然村，人口6200多人，统计年份未注。东面接荷兴工业园，南与高新区产业转移园接壤，西邻高尔夫球场度假村，北与打古社区毗邻。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，社区被认定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。2026年1月，社区获「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]
名人[edit]
博雅地名网将赖泉（1932年12月至1989年8月）和赖新（1931年至2001年8月）列为横荷村委会人。两人早年都曾在香港、澳门经营工商业，并支持家乡的公益事业。[1]
