据社区的报道，伦洲岛居民的迁入可上溯至清代康熙年间，岛上历来有养蚕与捕鱼的习俗。[2]

2024年，社区以党建、风貌、产业三步推进典型村培育。其中学地村完成24栋民房的立面改造，建设「四小园」10个，社区共投入约1050万元用于美丽乡村建设与旧村庄改造。[2]

据2024年的街道概况，2022年以来，全街创成5条美丽乡村（整洁村），均在伦洲社区。[3]

2023年4月，伦洲社区志愿者救援队成立，15名队员在授旗仪式上宣誓，并接受了应急救援培训。[4]

伦洲岛面积约2平方千米，岛上有沙滩、耕地与林地，据百度百科，每年接待游客数十万人。[5]
