乔连村隶属阳春市八甲镇。清嘉庆年间在堡下设圩场，并架桥通往八甲河东岸，后来形成乔连圩。[1]

名称来历[edit]

堡下一带于清嘉庆年间（1796—1820年）设起圩场，又为方便往来八甲河东岸而架桥。清光绪年间，圩上有了商店，后来形成乔连圩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

乔连村1951年建乡，1958年成为大队，1983年改设乡政府，1986年换成村委会，1989年变为管理区。[1]

阳春市人民政府于1999年3月15日核准组建乔连村委会，名称沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，马一村被确定为「2021年度阳江市卫生村」；2023年10月，枝根村、坑一村、坑二村、新屋村、陈屋村列入「2023年度阳江市卫生村」名单。[1]
