平中村是阳春市合水镇下辖的行政村。清雍正年间（1723年—1735年）此地在长尾河高岸建成高田寨。1951年分设小乡，称平中乡；1958年，平中乡的辖地分作数个大队。1999年3月4日设立平中村委会。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清雍正年间（1723年—1735年），长尾河高岸上有高田寨，即今村址。1951年分小乡时，这里被称作平中乡。1958年，该乡地域分为平中、竹园、高塘、大垌水四个大队。1983年设乡政府，1986年起称村委会，其后于1989年改为管理区。经阳春市人民政府批准，于1999年3月4日设立平中村委会，此名延用至今。[1]

该村于2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
