沙河村位于阳西县新圩镇，城乡分类属村庄（代码220）。它的水产养殖项目列入了省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网记有一则传说：古时一位仙人赶着一群石马沿东水河而下，到河口时石马忽然不见，此后从河口直到儒洞河一带都是沙子，村因此得名沙河。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

沙河在1949年属阳江县七区，1953年属十七区新墟乡，1956年归儒洞区新墟乡，1958年5月改归儒洞乡。同年11月编入大跃进人民公社，12月改归入儒洞人民公社，1959年成立沙河生产大队，1961年划入儒洞区禾塘人民公社，1963年划归新墟人民公社。1967年成立革命委员会，1980年恢复生产大队管委会，1983年开设沙河乡，由新墟区管辖。1987年2月成立村委会，1988年阳西建县后隶属新墟镇，1989年建立管理区，1999年村委会重新设立。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，沙河村入选2018年度广东省民主法治示范创建名录。[1]

阳江市2021年度卫生村名单中，沙河村委会下辖的垌头角村与新寨村入选，名单公布于2021年12月。[1]
