历史沿革[edit]
关于地名的来历，清末（1875年至1911年）此处是一片沙滩，各地渔民陆续迁来定居，取沙作建筑材料，因而得名“沙扒”。[1][3]
1907年以前，这一带属海陵乡下的白石都，归白石二图管辖。新中国成立后的头几年，此地称北额乡，划在阳江县第七区内。1956年前后设为沙扒区，次年又恢复为镇；1958年归入儒洞公社，1959年另立沙扒公社。1984年至1987年间一度撤社设区，到1987年，沙扒由区改设为镇，隶属阳江县。[5][2]
1988年阳西建县后，沙扒改隶阳西县。2003年，原属儒洞镇的渡头、乌石头、来福园、前步四个管理区改归沙扒管辖，此后镇域由纯渔业镇转为以渔业为主的渔农镇。[5][1] 不过，来福园村的历史沿革记该村2012年才划入沙扒镇，两说不一。[4]
地理环境[edit]
县境西南一隅，沙扒镇三面是海，东接上洋镇，西隔一条河与茂名市电白区岭门镇相望。镇域面积各家记载不一：博雅地名网载约9.2平方千米，快懂百科载32.2平方千米，百度百科载38.33平方千米。[3][2][1]
北额岭在镇域东南部，海拔171米，约3000亩，东西延绵约4千米，是镇内的最高点。清代地方志称其为白额岭，后改称北额岭。山顶可俯瞰青洲岛、海上风电场和沙扒渔港。[7]
人口与行政区划[edit]
第七次全国人口普查公报（2021年6月公布）载沙扒镇人口27636人。据百度百科，2019年末户籍人口为33061人；维基百科载31463人，未注年份。三者的年份与口径各不相同。[2][1][6]
全镇下辖沙扒社区，新星、海燕、红光、新光四个渔民委员会社区，以及渡头、来福园、乌石头、前步四个行政村。其中四个行政村原属儒洞镇。[3][1]
经济[edit]
沙扒以渔业立镇。博雅地名网的概况页所记数字多为2001年至2003年间的情况：全镇有大小机动渔船360艘，海洋捕捞占全镇总产值的六成，以深海机拖作业为主，水产品加工企业有24家。该年渔业总产量约六万八千吨，产值约两亿三千万元。[4]
镇内建有水产品批发市场和渔港码头。经农业部批复，沙扒渔港升为国家一级渔港；镇内还有网箱养殖、滩涂养殖和虾苗场，青洲海域设有保护区。[2][1]
文化与旅游[edit]
沙扒湾海岸线长约2千米，岸边有马尾松林带。与之相连的月亮湾是一条长约7.5千米、形如弯月的白色沙滩。[8][2]
青洲岛在沙扒海面约十里处，海产资源丰富，每年春秋两季夜间，渔船聚集岛周围以灯光诱鱼。[2]
沙扒湾为国家3A级旅游景区。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2014年7月，住房和城乡建设部等七部委认定沙扒为全国重点镇。2019年12月，它列入广东省首批旅游风情小镇之中；2021年1月，省里把2020年度卫生城镇的称号授予沙扒。[2][3]
2023年3月，沙扒获得休闲农业与乡村旅游示范镇的称号，评定年度为2022年。2022年4月，它进入农业产业强镇的创建队列。2021年9月，以水产种苗一项，沙扒被列为第三批广东省专业镇。[3][2]
2024年4月，沙扒被纳入乡村振兴示范镇的首批创建对象。同年8月，农业农村部与财政部发布的案例中，沙扒以“科技创智赋能型”一项入选，全省只此一镇。2026年5月，它又被定为“百千万工程”首批现代化建设中心镇。[3][2]
