周新村是上洋镇的一个行政村。村名的来历是：村委会位于周文底村与那西村委会的新楼村之间，各取一字，合成“周新”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年属阳江县第七区；1953年属第十六区上洋乡；1956年划入上洋区。1958年5月隶上洋乡，12月则转入儒洞人民公社。[2]

1959年此地称周新生产大队，10月起回到上洋人民公社；1983年设周新乡，隶上洋区；1986年村委会组建，归上洋镇；1988年阳西分县后属阳西县上洋镇；1989年为管理区；1999年村委会恢复。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

河洞庙位于龙高山南麓，属周新村委会所辖，庙宇建于山谷之中，周围绿树成荫，溪水环绕。据快懂百科，古刹由来久远。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2020年8月，周新村以西瓜入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。2026年3月，周新村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
