平中村位于阳西县程村镇，1949年11月设平中行政村，当时属阳江县六区。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年10月此地属阳江县六区，同年11月设平中行政村。1953年改隶阳江县十二区，设平中乡；1956年划入程村区，1958年5月隶属程村乡。1958年11月划入大跃进人民公社，同年12月转归织篢人民公社；1959年起设平中生产大队，10月起改归程村人民公社。[2]

1967年起设平中革命委员会，1980年改称生产大队管委会，1983年春设平中乡。1987年2月组建平中村委会，1988年归阳西县程村镇；1989年9月改称平中管理区，1999年9月恢复平中村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年度「阳江市卫生村」名单中有大车村、上店村、寨仔村（2021年12月确定）。2019年9月，平中村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
