地名由来[edit]

村委会原驻地在谷围村，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年谷围被划入阳江县第十三区，设谷围乡。1956年归织篢区，1958年底改入织篢人民公社，并设谷围大队。1983年复设谷围乡，1987年2月改称谷围村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年再设村委会。[2]

荣誉与产业[edit]

2020年8月，广东省农业农村厅公布「首批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单，谷围村以罗非鱼入选。[1]2022年11月，文化和旅游部将谷围村确定为「第四批全国乡村旅游重点村」。[1]2023年11月，村入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」；2024年4月，入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]

据博雅地名网，镇内谷石海养基地总面积约1.5万亩，以谷围一带为中心沿白土联围东西延伸，主要精养虾蟹。[3]
