大往村位于东源县涧头镇境内，是镇下辖的行政村，全村曾于2020年11月获评第六届全国文明村镇。[1][3]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

地名来自当地地势：这里是原河源县西北部村民前往涧头的必经之路，又是一片较大的坪地。[1]

1958年为大往大队，1983年改设大往乡，1987年改为大往管理区。1999年经县里批准设立大往村委会，沿用至今。[1]

2004年，光明村并入本村。[2][3]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，大往村获评第六届全国文明村镇。[3]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把大往村定为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建对象；同年八月，又列为2022年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建对象。2024年3月，大往村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
