涧头镇位于广东省河源市东源县西北部，属新丰江库区，镇政府驻涧头圩。全镇东邻顺天镇，南接灯塔镇与双江镇，西连半江镇，北与连平县相邻，辖1个社区居委会和12个行政村。[1][3][5]

地名原作简头，得于最早定居此地的简姓人家；简姓人后来外迁，李姓人迁来，遂改为今名。1994年，涧头由乡改设为镇。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1874年（清同治十三年）时，这一带归河源县永顺都的黄洞约管辖，到1940年又划为第一区黄洞乡的一部分。[2]

1958年时隶属灯塔公社。1961年，涧头从灯塔分出，单独设公社。1983年11月一度称涧头区，1987年撤区后改设涧头乡。[2]

1988年1月，河源县撤销后设立河源市，涧头乡随之归入河源市郊区。1993年11月起属东源县。1994年初，乡改设为镇，下辖十五个行政村与一个社区居委会。[2][7]

2004年经批准的调整中，东坝村接纳了大禾塘村，礤娥村接纳了举溪村，大往村接纳了光明村。[2][4]

地理环境[edit]

东源县西北角的涧头镇处在新丰江库区范围内。镇政府设在涧头圩，离县城约50公里。[6]

镇境有205国道和粤赣高速穿过；从高速公路进入河源市区，车程约半小时。[1]

辖区面积各来源记载不一：2010年县政府资料为173.62平方千米，博雅地名网载约173.2平方千米，百度百科载161.28平方千米（年份未注）。[6][1][4]

2010年，全镇耕地约300公顷，山地约1.32万公顷。[6]

2010年，全镇有3574户，户籍人口18196人，其中男9055人，女9141人。[6]

百度百科载，截至2019年末，涧头镇户籍人口为18046人。[4]博雅地名网概况另载总人口16219人（年份未注）。[1]

博雅地名网引第七次全国人口普查结果，称涧头镇人口为7000人（2021年6月公布，位列全县乡镇第16位）。该数与上述户籍数字差距较大，原因未详。[1]

镇内山地与林地面积大。已开发的有约一万亩优质石坪茶基地、约一千亩水果基地和约一千亩笋竹基地，另有二万亩用材林基地。[1]

水电方面，新中、礤下岗、大往三座电站装机容量共4000千瓦，尚可开发水电约3000千瓦。[1]矿产有铁矿、金矿、锡矿等。[1][6]

县政府资料称，镇内办有坚基矿业、青雅电子等企业，「石坪茶」远近驰名。[6]博雅地名网载，镇富民工业园规划面积约3平方公里，距粤赣高速出口7.5公里。[1]

2010年，全镇工业总产值约10亿元，农业总产值6311.81万元。[6]百度百科另载，2017年镇级财政收入230万元，税收1021万元；固定资产总投资为19000万元，工业总产值为57598万元。[4]

2010年时，镇里有文化站一个、初中一所，小学则有九所。[6]

2011年12月，涧头镇入选第三届全国文明村镇名单。[1]
