红十月村是东源县黄村镇下辖的行政村，为镇乡结合区。村子原名狐狸岗，因纪念1949年10月新中国成立而改名红十月，「红」字象征革命胜利。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年划归黄村公社；1971年设红十月大队；1983年改为红十月乡；1987年成为红十月管理区；1999年由县政府批准设村委会，至今沿用。[1]
