相传此地从前溪流众多，溪边开满花朵，香气阵阵飘散，村名便由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年为香溪大队，1983年改为香溪乡，1987年改为香溪管理区。1999年，东源县政府同意成立香溪村委会，此后延续至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，香溪村列在2018年广东省民主法治示范村的创建单位之中。2024年3月，村庄获得2023年广东省卫生村的称号。[1]

2026年1月，香溪村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
