常美村位于广东省河源市东源县上莞镇，处在上莞小盆地北部的尾端。因村民嫌“上”“尾”二字不雅，便选用读音相近的“常”“美”作村名，寓意常新常美[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年为常美大队，1983年改为常美乡，1987年成为常美管理区。1999年，东源县政府批准在此设立村委会，名称沿用至今[1][2]。

文化[edit]

2019年10月，常美村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录[1]；2019年9月，常美村上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。
