林寨镇是广东省河源市和平县下辖的镇，在县境东南部，东面与东水镇相邻，南面接礼士镇，西面与公白镇相依，北面连着彭寨镇，到县城的路程约35千米。[1][2] 全镇辖1个居委会和11个行政村。[1][7] 镇域内有京九铁路经过，林寨站即设于此。[3] 镇内的林寨古村于2012年列入首批中国传统村落，古村内保存有大量客家四角楼。[6][7][9]

历史沿革[edit]

地方史料记载，林寨一带在秦代已设寨守御，当时属龙川县。公元前214年前后，秦军南下，南越国为抵御来敌，派一位林姓将军在此筑寨驻守，地名由此而来。[4] 元至正九年（1349年），陈氏始祖陈元坤入籍定居，此后陈姓逐渐取代林姓，成为人口较多的大姓。[4] 明正德十三年（1517年）设立和平县，林寨自龙川划归和平县管辖。[4]

林寨曾是东江上游的商埠，货物由广州、东莞、惠州、河源或老隆转运至此，再分送粤北与赣南，水运与中转贸易使这里一度富庶。清中叶至民国初年，富裕人家在林寨古村兴建了大批四角楼，如今林寨古村的四角楼多建于这一时期。[4] 1999年，各行政村相继设立村民委员会，沿用至今。[5]

地理环境[edit]

林寨古村位于林寨河（即浰江）北岸，距镇政府约1千米。[6] 京九铁路自镇域西北向东南穿过，镇内设有林寨站。[3] 全镇林地约7100公顷，耕地约1000公顷。[1]

人口与民族[edit]

全镇人口约3.1万人，其中畲族约占1%，另有海外华侨、港澳同胞300多人。[1] 百度百科所载的人口数为2019年末的3.10万人。[3]

经济[edit]

镇内的主要农作物包括砂糖橘、脐橙、青瓜、萝卜、苦瓜和油菜，镇域的特色蔬菜生产被认定为和平县名优特蔬菜示范镇。[1] 主要产业为福楼醒狮产业和油茶种植。[1] 镇内有装机容量1200千瓦的水电站一座，竹木、黏土、瓷土和铁矿等资源较多。[1] 2017年全镇工农业总产值为2.01亿元。[3]

2025年和平县政府工作报告把林寨镇列为第二批典型镇培育对象，持续推进镇村建设，并提出提档升级林寨古村为国家3A级旅游景区。[8]

文化[edit]

镇内的文物旧址素有“老八古”之称，指古树、古桥、古亭、古寺、古道、古墙、古井与古巷。[1][9] 客家菜式“八酿”在东江一带饮誉已久，包括酿苦瓜干、酿草包、酿腐卷、酿荷包蛋、酿菜卷、酿豆腐、酿香菇，另有酿“三宝”。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

林寨古村是全镇最主要的古建筑群，核心区保存有较大的四角楼24座。[9] 2006年9月，河源市人民政府公布了一批林寨古建筑为市级文物保护单位，共18处，其中有谦光楼与颍川旧家。[4] 第八批广东省文物保护单位的名单于2015年12月公布，林寨一带的建筑群在其中。[4] 福谦楼于2019年4月列入第九批广东省文物保护单位名单。[4]

林寨古村于2012年列入首批中国传统村落名录。[6][7] 林寨村属第六批中国历史文化名村之列。[3] 镇内其他景点还有撑腰石、七叠泉、天后宫与留云古寺等。[1]

著名人物[edit]

博雅地名网的介绍提到，林寨古村一带出过清嘉庆庚辰科状元陈继昌，另有清光绪年间两广巡抚陈琼润。[9]
