地名由来[edit]
尚岭旧名象岭寨。曾氏族谱记载，1502年（明正统元年）曾氏始祖松月公建寨，寨门朝北；西南、西北一带有三口池塘排成半圆，把寨子的南、北、西三面围住。池塘外侧的一排矮屋约350米长，形如大象的鼻子，寨名由此而来。[1]
建国后，村名一度改为尚智村。1953年，因“尚岭”与“象岭”读音相近，改称尚岭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1961年，尚岭为大湖公社的尚岭大队；1967年大队设立革命委员会。1987年改设尚岭管理区，1999年起由尚岭村民委员会管理。[1]
荣誉[edit]
尚岭村以沙糖桔入选广东省首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，名单由广东省农业农村厅在2020年8月公布。[1]
2022年1月，尚岭村成为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位；2026年1月，它获得「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。省爱卫会于2023年5月授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
文笔塔立在塔岭山顶，塔岭山属尚岭村。塔始建于清嘉庆十年（1805年），1985年经连平县人民政府列为「县级文物保护单位」。[3][2]
