油东村是油溪镇下辖的行政村，因位于油溪镇东边而得名。村域内的八字山有战国时期的人类活动遗址。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

上世纪五十年代为油东大队，1983年设油东乡，1987年划为油东管理区，1998年改设油东村民委员会。[1]

2019年9月，油东村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；油东村于2024年3月获评「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

八字山战国人遗址位于本村八字山上，属战国时期人类活动留下的古遗址，占地约2000平方米。遗址已发掘出陶器碎片和石锛、石柱等石器。[1]
