历史沿革[edit]

1958年人民公社成立时称远光大队，1983年改为乡，1989年改设远光管理区，1999年撤管理区、建村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

2021年9月，远光村（红肉蜜柚）被广东省农业农村厅列入第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村；2023年5月获2022年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
