高埔岗街道在河源市源城区，位于市区郊外，由1959年建起的国营高埔岗农场发展而来，2011年3月设为街道，管辖新作塘、大水井、新陂3个社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

“高埔（铺）岗”一名，据博雅地名网所记，是因当地处在火山山脉上、地势偏高。[1]清代这里归大洲都高埔约，民国时设高埔乡。[1]

新中国成立后，1953年先设劳改场，由广东省公安厅和汕头专区管；到1959年，为安置新丰江水库的移民，场改为国营农场，隶省农垦厅直属管理局。[1][2]其后管辖屡变：1969年交惠阳地区，1973年起属河源县，1981年被河源县定为兼具行政管理和企业性质的单位，1988年河源设市立区，才划入源城区。[1][2]2011年3月，广东省人民政府同意、省民政厅批复，在农场的基础上成立街道办事处，两套牌子由一套人马运作。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

街道概况记，辖区10.5平方千米，常住加户籍合计总人口两万多，户籍人口约3800，其中九成四以上是新丰江水库移民。[2]2020年的第七次全国人口普查中，街道人口为8000人，列源城区各街道乡镇第7位。[1]概况另称辖区有企业23家，含上市企业1家、筹备上市企业2家；街道以旅游、工业、文化为三项发展战略。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

辖区有巴伐利亚庄园、客天下·水晶温泉度假区两处国家4A级旅游景区。[2]前者占地约10.4平方千米，以客家围屋、德式古堡等景观为特色，2019年5月获评国家级旅游度假区，庄园里建有学校，河源广大附中巴伐利亚学校2020年9月开学。[3]2019年12月，街道进入首批广东省旅游风情小镇名单。[1]
