建设大道社区在河源市区东埔街道境内，社区居委会设在建设大道一带，管辖这条路周围的地段，名称即由此而来。1995年经源城区人民政府批准设立。[1]

社区面积1.6平方千米。四至为：建设大道南侧在北，长安街北侧在南，河源大道东在西，建设大道东68号一带在东。[1] 据博雅地名网，社区共4176户，合计14616人，男性略少于女性（7156与7460），按年龄分，中年8271人、儿童3516人、老年2829人。[1]
