上城街道是河源市源城区的街道，地处河源老城区，东临东江，北濒新丰江，办事处设在环城东路74号。街道原属源城镇，1997年分出单设，管着6个社区居委会：上城、下城、下角、公园、新兴、南湖。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

街道所在一带南齐永明元年（483年）已属河源县境。1997年3月，源城镇经广东省人民政府批准分设街道，上城街道随之设立。[1]

博雅地名网记，街道得名于地处老城区；其下的上城社区则说是因居于老城地势最高处而名上城。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

河源市政府网站载，街道北靠新丰江，西与新江街道相邻，东面是东江，南面与源南镇相接，面积3.5平方千米，户籍人口4.7832万人（2010年前后）。[2]博雅地名网另记第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月公布）的人口为4.52万人，在源城区各街道镇中居第4位。[1]

据2010年的统计，街道有中学2所、小学2所、幼儿园1所，当年工业总产值8.62亿元，税收总收入1.026亿元，固定资产投资完成4.02亿元。[2]商业方面，博雅地名网列有太平风情街、翔丰商业广场、化龙商业步行街。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

龟峰塔建于龟峰山上，在东江与新丰江汇合处，始建于南宋绍兴二年（1132年），为平面六角、七层楼阁式砖塔，高42.6米，2006年5月公布为第六批全国重点文物保护单位。[3]河源市博物馆就在塔下滨江大道，前身是1982年成立的河源县博物馆，新馆于2016年12月28日建成开放；挂在馆下的河源恐龙博物馆于2010年11月26日对外开放。[4][6]

河源革命烈士陵园始建于1958年，占地约3万平方米，经国务院2009年3月批准，列入全国重点革命烈士纪念建筑物保护单位，园内立有纪念阮啸仙的碑。[1][5]此外，辖区内公园社区有飞鸾桥、鸣凤桥，上城社区有李焘故居和草行丘屋，南湖社区有石峡恐龙蛋化石埋藏地，各见其社区条目。[1]
