环林村在行政上归广东省汕尾市陆丰市南塘镇管辖，是镇内24个行政村委会之一[1]。2024年3月，村名列入「2023年广东省卫生村」之列[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

环林1952年设乡，属第五区（南塘区）；1959年成为环林大队。1975年由南塘公社改隶东桥公社，1983年东桥公社撤销，复归南塘区并改称环林乡；1987年改设村民委员会，属南塘镇；1994年称管理区，1999年复称村委会，沿用至今。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

博雅地名网所载的南塘镇概况说，环田古寺在环林村辖下的石佛村，建于明万历己丑年（1589年）[2]。
