1959年成立居民区；1966年的“四清”运动中，改编成第一、第二街道委员会，次年恢复为一个居民区，1969年建革命委员会，1977年叫五七大队，1979年复称居民区，1987年设居委会，1994年为管理区，2002年定名后城社区居委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，该社区获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予的2020年度广东省卫生村称号。[1]
