河南社区位于陆河县城南部，属河田镇，居委会驻地在河田镇区南部，故称河南。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身，是由丰田片和新圩片合在一起的河南管理区。到1999年，管理区改为社区居委会，叫河南社区，后来一直如此。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区东界高砂路，西临螺河东路，北到朝阳路，南至滨河路，在县城的中心地带。[2] 镇政府一份资料称辖区约4.1平方千米，分11个居民小组，3352户、总人口9061多人；另一份资料称辖区1.1平方千米，划11个网格，共4658户，常住17870人。[3][2]
