城北社区是汕尾市陆河县河田镇的一个社区居委会，位于县城北部，社区名即由此而来。[1] 社区在1999年由原河田居委会分出，与新城、河田两个社区同时设立。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1988年陆河设县，县城设在河田镇；1999年，新城、河田、城北三个社区居委会从河田居委会中分出，城北社区的名称沿用至今。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区东邻宝山村，北接河北村，西到内洞桥，南以人民北路十字路口为界。[2] 镇政府有两份统计，口径不同：一份称辖区约5.3平方千米、5个村民小组、5760户、总人口10293多人；另一份称辖区0.53平方千米，划10个网格，常住人口14584人，户籍3281户8352人。[3][2]

荣誉与名胜[edit]

2019年9月，城北社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1] “三一八”烈士纪念碑在河田镇北郊、螺河东岸的内洞桥头，而城北社区的西界正是内洞桥；碑建于1951年，纪念1950年3月在丝茅凹牺牲的24名战士。[4][5]
