多祝社区是多祝镇的镇中心区，即镇政府所在的多祝圩一带，由原来的居民委员会改设而成。[1]

地名由来[edit]

多祝墟始建于明代，因墟中有三棵大竹，得名“三棵竹”，又叫“三蔸竹”。墟镇渐大、人口渐多之后，人们觉得名字不够雅，改作“三多祝”，意在“华封三祝”，新中国成立后一般写作多祝圩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清同治九年（1870年）前后，这里是升平社堡的三多祝小村，归平山司巡检管辖；1931年8月起，作为多祝镇划入惠阳县多祝第三区；1937年9月改隶第五区，区署就设在镇上；1950年6月属多祝区（九区）；1951年12月区府设在多祝镇，属第十九区。1957年12月并入多祝镇，1958年起称多祝大队，1968年成多祝镇革委会，1974年改称管理委员会。1987年3月依惠东府函〔1987〕15号文改称多祝居委，2002年依粤民基〔2002〕5号文改称多祝社区居民委员会。[2][3]
