江北街道是广东省惠州市惠城区下辖的街道，在惠州市区东江北岸，惠州市的行政中心设在这里。街道因位于东江以北而得名，辖区约19平方公里，下辖9个社区和2个行政村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

街道最早的机构叫水北开发区管理委员会，1988年改名惠城区人民政府江北办事处；1989年又增设一个江北办事处；到2003年7月才定名惠城区江北街道。[1]博雅地名网的两处文字对办事处的设立时间说法不一，一处记为1988年6月，一处记为1988年8月。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

街道在市区东江以北，东面是汝湖镇，北面与小金口街道相接。[2]辖区内有惠州大桥，桥北起云山西路，南至下角东路，横跨东江，一头在江北街道，一头在江南街道，1986年7月动工，1989年5月30日通车，主桥全长1103.5米。[3]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网转载的街道概况，街道提出以现代商贸、现代服务、现代金融、现代物流和高端商住为发展方向，并称其国内生产总值和税收总量居惠城区各镇街之首。[2]辖区内的三新村、望江村都有出租厂房的集体经济，云山社区一带则有工业区和商场。[4][5][6]

街道办事处公布的辖区常住人口约14万人，博雅地名网据第七次全国人口普查称其在惠城区各街道、镇中居第5位。[1]
