地名与沿革[edit]
1958年回龙镇政府取「建设、发展」之意，命名建发乡，名称沿用至今。[1] 1961年为建发大队，1983年为建发乡，1986年设建发村委会，1989年改为建发管理区，1998年恢复为建发村委会。[1]
概况[edit]
共10个村民小组，人口合计2335人，是冲积平原地带，有2000多亩蚕桑基地；山上种沙糖橘，水田种水稻，鱼塘养四大家鱼，塘基和果园养猪。[1] 2020年8月，建发村的大头菜入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。[1]
