谭新村是怀集县冷坑镇中部的一个行政村，距圩镇1公里。据博雅地名网转载的村情资料（未注明年份），全村人口3,857人，耕地1015亩，其中旱地80.5亩；产业上，种植水稻；村级特色产业以铁器为主，村民多从事打铁，打制铁耙、铁犁和刀具等。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据村情资料，该地建制先后为：1962年谭新与官屋两个大队合并，称龙新大队；谭新大队（1975年）；改称谭新管理区（1989年）；谭新村民委员会（1998年）。[1]

村民委员会成立于1998年11月，由怀集县人民政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准，因驻地在本村而用此名。[1]

  • 该村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单（2019年9月）。[1]
