深镇镇是广东省茂名市高州市东北部山区的一个镇，北邻信宜市，南接平山镇，西靠东岸镇，东与古丁镇、马贵镇相连。[1]全镇下设1个社区和13个行政村，镇政府设在深镇村一带的仙景路。[1][2]镇内的仙人洞自然风景旅游区是国家4A级旅游景区。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

建置上，先是1956年的深镇乡，两年后成了深镇公社。1961年，它从信宜县划到高州县。之后几经更名：深镇区（1983年）、深镇乡（1986年12月），到1988年5月才定名深镇镇。[2][1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网说，镇驻地所在的小盆地，东西两侧分别是青龙山脉与狮子岭，背靠大雾岭，门前是开阔的河口，是群山中的集镇，所以叫深镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

百度百科记镇域面积121.32平方千米，博雅地名网则记为103平方公里，两处说法不一。[1][2]博雅地名网称，全镇有山地9660公顷、耕地650公顷，河流落差达800多米，镇内有花岗岩、石英石等矿产。[4]

人口[edit]

2019年末户籍人口为32626人。[1]按第七次全国人口普查结果（2021年公布），常住人口为1.75万人，在高州市各乡镇街道中居第28位。[2]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网转载的镇概况，镇里建有以香蕉、荔枝、龙眼为主的高产农业基地4.3万亩，分别为香蕉和大蕉1.4万亩、荔枝与龙眼各5000亩，另有黄榄1.32万亩。[4]小水电是镇里的支柱产业，已建水电站36座。[4]百度百科记有2019年末的工业企业37家，规模以上的只有2家。[1]

深镇黄榄自1996年起大面积种植，面积近万亩，果皮黄亮，味甘香而不涩。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

旅游区在大田顶南麓，处云开山脉腹地，最高点海拔1380米，夏季气温约20—25摄氏度，有森林、瀑布群、野生杜鹃和禾雀花。[6][3]景区属仙人洞村，被评为国家4A级旅游景区。[6]

荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网记有两项：2022年1月被命名为省卫生城镇（2021年度）；同月被确定为省乡村治理示范乡镇创建单位（2021年度）。[2]
