尾轮村在林头镇的西北部。邻近的村有林头社区、大衙社区、新圩村、亭梓村、文车村、赤岭村、那关村、林南村、下寮村、林头村、塘迳村、龙记村、乌坭村、大群村。[1]

1961年，建立尾轮生产大队；1983年改称尾轮乡；1987年改称尾轮村委会；1989年改称尾轮管理区；1999年改称尾轮村委会，此后名称沿用至今。[1]
