1953年设乡，1958年改为生产大队，1983年恢复乡的建制，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年又恢复村民委员会之称，此后未再变动。[1]

主要经济作物是水稻、冬粉薯、荔枝；特色收入来自龟鳖养殖；上一年（该网未注明年份）村经济总收入为26万元。[1]
