霞洞社区是电白区霞洞镇政府所在地，居民委员会设在镇中部的圩镇中心。[1][2]据博雅地名网，辖6个居民小组和1个渔民村，总面积100公顷，耕地118亩，特色收入有河鱼、鳖、蚌、蚬，以及雨衣加工、果菜购销，特色食品有豆饼、河粉。[1]2024年3月，该社区被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1987年起定名为霞洞社区居民委员会，名称一直沿用。[1]1987年3月撤区设镇时，镇辖1个居委会、24个村委会。[2]镇情资料记其辖新霞路、霞北路、正街、南屏街、光明街。[2]
文化[edit]
据快懂百科，霞洞社区的年例在每年二月初二，历来规模较大。[2]传说乾隆年间副榜崔腾云曾在霞洞圩边建「番薯林公庙」，纪念引入番薯种的医生林怀兰，后毁于「文革」年代。[2]
