石古湾一带的建制变化：1953年设乡，1958年为生产大队，1983年改称乡，1987年设村委会，1989年改管理区，1999年复为村委会，此后建制未变[1]。

  • 2021年12月：石古湾村获广东省爱卫会命名为「2021年广东省卫生村」[1]
