历史沿革[edit]
当地流传的说法是，北宋苏东坡被贬岭南期间，曾先后两次来到荔枝村，村子因此改称苏二，意思是苏东坡二进此村。[1][2]
据博雅地名网的记载，村里最早的组织是1947年的乐康团；1951年有辅助组，随后经初级社（1953年）、高级社（1955年）两步，1959年改为苏二大队。1983年称苏二乡，1986年立村委会，1989年划作管理区，1999年再分出苏二村民委员会。[3]2016年1月，万山、加埠两个村民委员会从苏二村民委员会分出。[4][5]
名胜古迹[edit]
据百度百科，村里现存明清古民居113座，主体是一座拦河大屋，有房五十多间并设防御工事；街巷以青石铺成，从南北向的主街伸出，民居多为四合院，带木雕、石雕和砖雕。村内还保留着千年古井、一段官道，以及与清代状元林召棠有关的遗迹。[1]博雅地名网的景点页则写作古民居四十多座，称其在粤西保存较好，并提到村里的百年古树。[2]两处数字不同，这里并录。
百度百科称，苏二村已纳入遂溪县的全域旅游规划，正推进东坡古镇项目，利用古建筑和荔枝林发展文化体验与民宿。[1]
荣誉[edit]
据博雅地名网所列，苏二村2012年12月列入第一批中国传统村落名录，2014年2月入选第六批中国历史文化名村；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单，2022年12月获「2022年度遂溪县文明村镇」认定。[3]
