历史沿革[edit]
据百度百科，南朝齐时此地置椹县，隋开皇十八年（598年）改为椹川县，县治设在这里，村名沿用县名，后来因“椹”“湛”谐音，改称湛川。[1]椹川县与湛江市名的关系，见乌塘镇条。[2]
据博雅地名网，1950年湛川一带属杨柑区新宁乡，1957年并入城月公社，成为湛川乡；1966年并入邦塘大队，1979年又从邦塘分出，设湛川大队；1983年改乡，1986年改居委会，1989年改管理区，1999年定名湛川村民委员会。2016年，原村民委员会一分为三，成为湛川、新屋、安铺仔3个村民委员会。[3]
经济[edit]
2020年8月，湛川村被列入广东省首批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村名单，项目为荔枝。[3]
