桥兴社区是湛江市赤坎区中山街道下辖的社区，因北桥河而得名，位于赤坎区西北部，是赤坎城乡结合的老城区之一，总面积1.25平方千米[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是1980年设立的桥兴大队，1983年改乡，1986年改居委会，1989年改管理区，2002年改称桥兴社区居民委员会[1]。名称取近北桥、盼兴旺之意，社区自称含“畔河而兴、因桥而兴”的寓意[1][2]。

地理环境与设施[edit]

辖区有大街小巷7条，1480户、4482人，工作人员8名[2]。北桥路边的北桥市场，社区介绍称是赤坎最大的农贸市场，辖区内有市十七小学，设有文化站、星光老人活动之家和残疾人康复中心[2]。社区还曾结合创卫，整治北桥河河岸、治理河道污染并扩建两岸道路[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，桥兴社区入选「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。社区的介绍列有「赤坎区先进党支部」「广东省文明社区」「广东省六好平安和谐社区」等称号[2]。
