九二一社区属广东省湛江市，在赤坎区寸金街道辖区内，属主城区，与拥军、西苑、寸金社区相邻。[1]名称纪念的是1945年9月21日从日本和法国势力手中收回广州湾这一日子。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期这一带曾有九二一行政街，1955年并入寸金行政街。[2]
该地先后称九二一大队（始设于1980年）、九二一乡（1983年）、九二一居委会（1986年）和九二一管理区（1989年）；2002年起再称九二一居委会，即今日的社区。[1]

2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
