拥军社区属广东省湛江市，在赤坎区寸金街道辖区内，属主城区，与九二一、西苑、寸金社区相邻。[1]辖区内有拥军路穿过，社区由此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该地先后称拥军大队（始设于1980年）、拥军乡（1983年）、拥军居委会（1986年）和拥军管理区（1989年）；2002年起再称拥军居委会，即今日的社区。[1]

2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年12月再次入选2020年度名单。[1]
