游东村在开平市金鸡镇南部，地处开平、恩平、台山三市交界，离金鸡圩约10千米。[1][2]江门中微子实验室就在这个村的辖区内。[2]

博雅地名网载，游东村下辖21条自然村，村民2284人，耕地3944亩，镇自来水厂的取水点西坑水库也在村内；百度百科载为22条自然村、人口2470人。[1][2]清代属恩平县得行都。[1]

经济与建设[edit]

村集体经济收入连续三年超过10万元，2024年突破50万元，来源包括新建商铺、入股企业和引进航天玉米稻种植。[2]村内完成自然村道路硬底化，开展“三清三拆”整治，建了科普小公园，开发了东溪营地，累计接待游客约1万人。[2]2021年9月，游东村列入广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位。[2]

2024年6月起，江门市科协派驻干部秦一杰任游东村第一书记。他协助实验室解决供电问题，在村委会旁建起以中微子知识为主题的科普公园，并联系省农科院专家促成养殖企业设立“科技小院”。[3]游东村后来成为广东省“百千万工程”第二批典型村之一，“万人焗鸡”活动带动了村里的文旅项目。[3]
